SIMPLY THE BEST!

Sometimes, you need grounded friends to remind you how good you've got it.

I just had dinner with an old high school friend and we talked about my little midlife crisis movie. This same friend drove all the way from San Diego to Los Angeles to see our film play at the Mann's Chinese Theater (which surprised the heck out of me!).

He - along with his wife - were mentioning how cool it was to see a feature film, and then sit and have drinks with the cast and crew that made that film.

And you know what? That is special!

I remember when I was young and I got to meet actors from plays or commercials (never films), and I got to shake their hands and get their autographs. I would think it was the coolest thing ever! I would always imagine that they would become rich and famous and then I'd have their autograph and/or a picture of me with them!

And now? I've had the opportunity to be the guy giving the autographs or getting my picture taken with folks. Okay, it's happened less than a handful of times, but it's happened! Someone out there has the picture as proof!

All this is to say, there's magic in making movies. I forget that a lot, but I'm glad my friend reminded me.
