SUPPORT LOCAL FILMMAKERS - BE A MANBABY!
Last week, I had the chance to go to a screening for the local indie film "Manbaby" and I had a blast! The filmmaker and several of the cast were there to celebrate their 9 year journey on this production, and it was a joy to witness.
There's something about a group of people all committing to a vision, jumping in, and giving it everything they've got that makes me want to cheer. Is it a perfect film? Of course not - it was made with roughly the same budget that we had (probably even less). But there's an undeniable energy to it that shows everyone wanted to make this film as great as it could be.
Maybe you have to be an indie filmmaker to see this - I dunno - but I looked at filmmaker Tim Lightell and recognized that strange combination of exhaustion and excitedness that happens at this stage of the game, and I felt pleased to be part of this club.
Check out Manbaby and support local films!
