WANNA SEE SOMETHING MAGICAL?

So I haven't talked too much about the whole process of entering film festivals, and there's a lot I can say - both good and bad. For now though, I'll just share a little something that tickles my happy place (not there, you filthy animals).

You see, 99% of all festivals use a common site for entry - FilmFreeway. As a filmmaker, it's easy to spend a lot of time (and money) on the site while you're figuring out what festivals are best for your project. Unfortunately, it sometimes takes quite a few entries (and rejections) before you figure out the best path for your film, but once you do, it can be kinda fun.

IF your film is accepted at a festival, you get a nice email from FilmFreeway. Then when you visit the site - surprise! Magic! The following image pops up and stars start dancing all over the place. The flickering flames are something that just started appearing recently. I think it's because we're considered "hot" for being accepted into a number of festivals. (Or maybe the site thinks I'm hot? Naughty site - rowr!)

Anyhow, this announcement is letting us know that we were accepted into the ALL THE LAUGH COMEDY AWARDS in Atlanta this coming October...which is coincidental (not ironic, FYI) considering that I'm heading to Georgia this Thursday for the BLACK CAT PICTURE SHOW FILM FESTIVAL. We screen there on Sunday - wish us luck!
