SOMETIMES, I'M SELF-AWARE!

Although we have gotten into a few film festivals (and won some awards!), we've also been turned down by some. Recently, we received a rejection from a festival that I feel we should've gotten into, so I was discussing this with my son on a walk...

ME: Man, it bugs me. We made a solid film. Why are we getting turned down by certain festivals?

SON: Well, there's a lot of films out there.

ME: Yeah, but some of these smaller festivals should be taking us.

I stop. Moment of realization occurs. I speak without any sense of irony.

ME: You know, I think some of these festivals are rejecting us just because of our subject matter.

SON: Gee, you THINK?!?
